Perform coating touch-ups as required, and quality inspections to meet workmanship standards.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but not limited to:
Engages in the setup and operation of basic manufacturing equipment to existing specifications, ensuring adherence to safety standards. Perform routine production tasks.
Manual assembly of electronic components including complex and high-density projects according to assembly documentation, custom specs and quality standards.
Operate various types of equipment aiding in the assembly process.
Final assembly and/or pack and ship as required
Ability to install, mount, fasten, align and adjust parts, components, wiring and harnesses to sub-assemblies and assemblies.
Communicate effectively with team members, leads, and engineering support regarding process issues or quality concerns.
Responsible for following all maintenance work for conformal coating room/work bench potting, relevant equipment/machinery. Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area, tools, and equipment.
Complete production documentation accurately, including job travelers and logs.
Report any unsafe equipment or conditions to manager immediately. Follow safety requirements and processes while performing work.
Performs other duties as required
General Conformal Coating
Mask parts to meet requirements as instructed in the assembly document. May mask manually (Kapton tape), or using a hot melt/ automated dispenser.
Use UV light for inspection of parts when process is complete. Touch up and inspect to ensure coatings meet all requirements.
Perform potting process using specific machine.
Follow and perform chemical handling and inventory procedures. Follow safety processes and regulations when performing the task.
Handle and mix coating materials safely following Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) guidelines.
Wear appropriate PPE as required by the task
Follow all company safety, ESD, and environmental procedures.
Conformal Coating using PVA machine
Operate PVA machine (automated dispensing/conformal coating machine) – load chemicals, power on the machine and turning pneumatic valve, navigate desktop interface, perform safety checks, insert the board in the conveyor, run the program and manually adjust as required. At times, use a thumb controller to move the sprayer and semi-automatically dispense coating in specific areas on the board.
Visual inspection of the coated board for quality control by quickly flashing UV light to spot for areas that require touch-up.
Touching up missed areas manually by pouring relevant chemical onto a container, and manually touching up by hand, ensuring levelled coating. Touching up cured boards as appropriate by using a different chemical manually
Loading coated boards into a UV light curing machine to cure.
Manual Conformal Coating
Load chemical into spray tank, and connecting the tank into the spray. Placing the board on its specific jig, manually pass through the board and spray by hand.
