JOB SUMMARYThe Production Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient and effective operations of the meat production department. This role is responsible for overseeing different aspects of production, including meat production, packaging, scheduling, data-driven results, key performance indicators (KPIs), continuous improvement initiatives, and quality checks. The Meat Production Manager will lead a team of production staff, setting and achieving production goals while maintaining the highest quality standards.
ROLERESPONSIBILITIES
Production Scheduling:
- Develop and maintain meat production schedules that align with customer demand and inventory levels.
- Manage and coordinate all meat production activities within the production room.
- Coordinate with other departments, such as procurement and logistics, to ensure the timely availability of raw materials and finished products.
- Adjust production schedules as necessary to accommodate changing priorities or unforeseen issues.
Leading team and driving results:
- Lead, motivate, and mentor production staff to achieve production targets.
- Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement within the production team.
- Implement data-driven processes to optimize production efficiency and quality.
- Analyze production data, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions.
- Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track meat production performance.
- Report on KPIs and take action to address any areas that do not meet targets.
Labor Management:
- Effectively manage the allocation and utilization of production staff to meet production goals.
- Monitor labor costs and productivity, ensuring that labor resources are efficiently utilized.
- Plan and oversee workforce schedules, including shift assignments and overtime as needed.
- Provide training and development opportunities to enhance the skills and capabilities of production personnel.
Quality Control and Continuous Improvement:
- Establish and maintain rigorous quality control standards and procedures.
- Conduct regular quality checks to ensure products meet quality and safety standards.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in the production process.
- Identify and implement best practices to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure all production activities adhere to safety regulations and quality standards.
- Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
