We’re looking for a permanent, full time Production Planning Manager to join our Chocolate Operations team based in the 2777 Kingsway Office in Vancouver, BC! This person will report to the Vice President of Chocolate Operations.

Job Overview: The Production Planning Manager is responsible for leading the development of end-to-end production planning and master scheduling within manufacturing.

This role is a technical leader working to optimize and leverage our systems to maximize efficiencies within operations, while delivering a supply plan which balances high service levels with our long-term inventory strategy. This position requires strong collaboration between departments within manufacturing, and the operations team. You will be required to balance stakeholder priorities; manage the overall supply plan as well as lead the planning and commercialization of new product introductions.

You will have the opportunity to work on:

Responsibilities

Supply Planning

  • Oversee and approve long‑term manufacturing production and supply plans.
  • Manage product lifecycle activities, including inventory ramp‑down for end‑of‑life items while minimizing obsolescence.
  • Establish and maintain safety stock levels to balance service performance and inventory efficiency.
  • Plan storage conditions proactively to ensure product freshness and quality based on production and demand.

Production Execution Planning

  • Ensure accurate job order planning, release, and closure within the ERP system.
  • Align production activities with the master production schedule.
  • Identify operational risks (e.g., material shortages) and implement mitigation plans.

New Production Introductions

  • Lead end‑to‑end planning for new product introductions and commercialization.
  • Define structure, timelines, and stakeholder expectations to drive on‑time execution.
  • Proactively identify risks across development, launch, and lifecycle transitions.
  • Prepare planning inputs and summaries for S&OP/IBP reviews and reporting.

Technical Leadership (ERP/MRP)

  • Champion optimization of master data to enhance ERP/MRP effectiveness.
  • Own the full Material Requirements Planning (MRP) process, ensuring alignment to current forecasts.
  • Refine ERP parameters such as run minimums, order multiples, horizon windows, and economic batch quantities.
  • Lead initiatives to adopt new system features (e.g., OEE metrics, constrained supply planning) to improve efficiency, agility, and reduce manual processes.

You will be a good fit if you have:

  • Experience in production planning or scheduling, using MRP software or relevant education in Operations Management
  • Demonstrated problem solving abilities with excellent time management capabilities
  • Excellent communication, planning and organizational skills
  • Data analysis skills including strong skills using Excel Power Query and Power BI
  • Analytical skills and experience designing and optimizing planning processes (business analysis)
  • Ability to do root cause analysis
  • Ability to lead and influence others and create a teamwork environment
  • Expertise in MRP functions/modules of ERP systems, WMS, Syteline ERP knowledge is an asset
  • Strong knowledge of GMP’s in a food environment
  • Candidates holding or working towards a professional supply chain certification will be an asset (APICS, SCMP)
