Position: Senior Production Specialist - Day Shift, contract

Production Specialists will be monitoring product/material quality performance through applicable areas, from receiving, pin through-hole, surface mount components, finished PCBA and box level assemblies, and when applicable secondary and mechanical operations (coating, potting, stamping, painting, etc.) but not limited to these areas where the product or process inspections may be required. The Production Specialist will be able to support other functions required by the supervisor, such as assembly operations, rework/repair or activities related to the manufacturing operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to:
Inspecting incoming products or components by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, and rejecting unacceptable materials. (not limited to raw materials or subassemblies)Perform inspection using defined inspection tools (microscope, calipers, CMM, AOI , etc.)Inspection of assemblies through the manufacturing processAbility to operate visual inspection devices applicable to the operation (i.e. X-ray, AOI)Capture and register inspection data using the required systemFollow procedure when a non-conformance is detectedProactively initiate defect reduction actions in collaboration with the Production and Engineering TeamsParticipate in RCCA for systemic issues appointed by the quality teamCollaborate with Quality Team for issue resolutionDemonstrate Inspection and Rework skills with a broad knowledge of IPC and other requirements for the role (IPC-A-610, IPC 7711/ 7721, IPC J-STD-001)Perform product assembly, rework or repair as required by the organizationAble to lead meetings and drive for actionGreat attitude of leadership and collaborationAble to back up the Manufacturing Supervisor (or equivalent) as requiredAble to train others as needed and appointed by the Manufacturing SupervisorFollow additional inspection instructions documented and defined by the organization and other duties as assignedBack up Manufacturing Team Leader (or supervisor) as requiredAble to participate in meetings and suggest improvement that drive for actionsQUALIFICATIONS
Required
Previous minimum 5-years working experience in the industry (either as an inspector, manufacturing assembly operator or other related position) or demonstrated equivalent competency to perform the tasksPossess proficient written and verbal communication skills to perform product inspections and defect descriptions to and with all levels of the organizationColor identificationOrganized and detail-orientedQuality focused with an eye for challenging the status quo, and driving continuous improvementWorking knowledge of J-STD-001 (Requirements for Soldered Electrical and Electronic AssembliesWorking Knowledge of IPC 7711/ 7721 (Rework, Modification, and Repair of Electronic Assemblies)Minimum 3-year electronic assembly particularity with SMT and thru-hole operations or demonstrated equivalent competency to perform the tasksBackground in IPC-A-610 (Acceptability of Electronics Assemblies) or demonstrated equivalent competency to perform the tasksPrevious inspection or rework experiencePreferred

This is a full time fixed term (6 months) position to start
Base Pay:
The anticipated pay range for this position is CDN $25.00–$30.00 per hour. The final offer will depend on factors including experience, education, etc.
