Position: Senior Pattern Engineer - Elite Athlete Performance

Advanced Innovation – Elite Athlete Performance Pattern Engineer

lululemon is an innovative performance apparel company for yoga, running, training, and other athletic pursuits. As the Advanced Innovation – Elite Athlete Performance Pattern Engineer, you will blend an artistic eye for design with a technical engineering mindset to transform sketches into patterns and prototypes that enable elite athletes during high‑profile moments in sport.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the pattern engineering process from concept to final product, integrating digital and hands‑on techniques.
  • Translate 2D designs into 3D patterns, ensuring fit, performance, function, and aesthetic intent.
  • Provide innovative construction and fit solutions for athletes across different activities.
  • Collaborate with Design, Research, Athlete Testing, Raw Materials, and Sports Marketing to refine product concepts.
  • Manage multiple streams of work in an ambiguous environment, driving the pattern engineering timeline.
  • Mentor teammates and share knowledge to elevate the team's talent.
  • Adjust project plans based on compressed timelines, GTM calendar gates and athlete needs.
  • Travel up to 30% of the time.
Qualifications
  • Deep passion for developing innovative, performance‑led apparel for elite athletes.
  • Comprehensive knowledge in pattern engineering, fit, and construction with a clear understanding of the athletics market.
  • Expertise in performance product construction, trims, materials, and apparel manufacturing.
  • Experience leading pattern engineering from concept to final product, including fittings and wear‑testing.
  • Strong communication skills to present complex ideas clearly and inspire.
  • Collaborative mindset and entrepreneurial spirit.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and knowledge sharing.
  • Ability to travel 30% of the time.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Apparel Pattern Engineering or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in the performance apparel industry.
  • Expert knowledge of Gerber Pattern Making and/or 3D software (CLO, Browzwear) and materials.
  • Proficient understanding of athlete product testing best practices, product planning, and logistics.
  • In‑depth understanding of GTM calendar dates and gates.
Compensation

Base salary range: $129,000 – 169,300 CAD annually . Salary depends on location and experience. Eligible for corporate bonus program.
