Position Summary
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Electrician is responsible for performing electrical preventative maintenance, supporting automation systems, and completing electrical improvement projects to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of production equipment. This role contributes to minimizing downtime, improving equipment performance, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the facility.
Responsibilities & Expectations- Responds promptly to plant and equipment maintenance needs as required, ensuring all SOPs and standard safety procedures and practices are followed.
- Assists in developing and follows all preventative maintenance programs within the plant, with the goal of ensuring limited downtime of equipment and machinery.
- Assists in developing equipment maintenance and operation SOPs of equipment as required.
- Works as part of the maintenance team, assisting in troubleshooting during line equipment set‑ups, and monitoring and maintaining the equipment for optimal performance.
- Maintains the company’s equipment database to organize work orders, equipment repairs, and equipment calibration for validation purposes.
- Reads and interprets electrical schematics and manuals.
- Performs equipment inspection and documentation as required.
- Ensures that adequate spare parts and supplies are maintained in-house to allow for quick repairs.
- Works on special projects as assigned to address cost reductions, improved efficiencies, and production accuracy.
- Follows all safety policies, procedures and rules, and ensures a safe work environment for all staff.
- Performs other duties and projects as assigned.
- 3-5 years of equipment maintenance experience is required, with a preference for experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience working with electro‑mechanical operation of a production line (including bottling, packaging and general production) is an asset.
- Journeyperson Electrician or equivalent experience preferred.
- Post‑secondary training in electronics, automation, industrial mechanics, or other related fields is an asset.
- Attention to detail and accuracy is required.
- Strong teamwork, organization and communication skills are required.
- Familiarity with HACCP and Good Manufacturing Practices is considered an asset.
- Familiarity with PLCs, motors, VFDs, and control systems is an asset.
- Robust mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills are required.
- Strong time‑management skills, with the ability to work independently, are required.
- Good computer skills.
