Materials Coordinator II
Location:
Calgary, AB
Contract Length: 1 year
Schedule:
Monday – Friday, 8 hrs/day
Main Functions The materials Coordinator is responsible for performing and/or managing all activities required for effective end-to-end materials coordination in support of projects. This role serves as the key interface between the business unit and procurement, ensuring smooth alignment across functions. The coordinator works closely with planning, inventory, vendors, buyers, and maintenance teams daily, providing customer support, timely communication, and a high level of materials and services fulfillment to support site maintenance activities.
This is a dynamic, fast-paced role requiring strong communication, cross-functional collaboration, and attention to detail.
Tasks and Responsibilities Responsible for end-to-end coordination of materials, ensuring visibility and control across the full lifecycle
Manage material ordering and inventory levels, ensuring sufficient stock is available to meet operational requirements
Ensure materials are ordered, purchase orders are completed, and deliveries are tracked through to receipt
Coordinate logistics and material transfers, ensuring timely and accurate movement of goods
Maintain accurate data in ERP systems and ensure all transactions are properly recorded
Act as an interface with third‑party suppliers, ensuring alignment on timelines, quality, and delivery expectations
Lead internal coordination with cross‑functional teams, including procurement, planning, maintenance, and operations
Provide input into risk‑based spare parts stocking strategies to optimize reliability and cost efficiency
Develop and maintain strong working relationships with supporting departments, promoting a continuous improvement mindset
Assist with returning parts to inventory and/or vendors for credit, including core management within a mining environment
Support the business with system transactions and coordinate logistics related to repair and return of stock materials
Skills and Qualifications Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree required
7+ years of experience in materials coordination, supply chain, or a similar environment
Previous experience in a similar or closely related role
Technical & Functional Skills Robust knowledge of SAP or similar ERP systems, including data accuracy and transaction management
Strong understanding of how materials are used within a plant environment
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and data analysis
Core Competencies Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
Strong problem‑solving ability and ability to manage competing priorities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to influence stakeholders both with and without direct authority
Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment
