1st Class Ship Fitter Position

Become a vital member of our shipbuilding team as a 1st Class Ship Fitter. This hands-on role involves fabricating and assembling structural components of ships per blueprints and specifications.

We are seeking qualified candidates with at least three years of ship fitting or fabrication experience. As a 1st Class Ship Fitter, you will interpret blueprints, cut and align structural components, and ensure all fittings are precise to maintain shipyard standards. Your craftsmanship and adherence to safety protocols will significantly contribute to our ship construction and repair projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret shipyard drawings and blueprints

• Fabricate and assemble structural components accurately

• Use hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment

• Lay out reference points on ship components

• Collaborate with various trades for project completion

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED preferred

• 3 years of ship fitting experience required

• Skilled in interpreting blueprints

• Familiar with safety regulations in shipyard

• Ability to work in confined and varying environments
