We are looking to add a highly skilled Joiner/ Cabinetmaker to join our millwork shop team in Vancouver. As part of a fun, supportive team, your days will be varied and challenging as you demonstrate the highest standard of craftsmanship for the projects you’re assigned to.
Role OverviewAs a Cabinetmaker, you will read and interpret shop drawings to build high-quality custom cabinetry, furniture, and architectural millwork. You will mill solid wood, fabricate cabinetry, install hardware, plan production workflows, and maintain shop equipment while ensuring exceptional craftsmanship and efficiency.
What You'll Be Responsible For Technical & Fabrication Responsibilities- Interpret shop drawing packages, material specifications, and hardware schedules quickly and accurately.
- Mill solid wood from rough lumber and apply traditional joinery techniques for furniture and architectural millwork.
- Efficiently cut and process sheet goods to produce cabinetry while minimizing waste.
- Detail and install all types of cabinet hardware using project specifications and practical experience.
- Create detailed cut lists and material break-out plans for personal use and team execution.
- Plan workflows to support efficient manufacturing and on-time job completion.
- Maintain and document preventative maintenance for all shop machinery to the highest standards.
Consistently delivering high-quality millwork with precision, efficiency, and attention to detail while meeting production timelines, maintaining shop standards, and contributing positively to a collaborative team environment.
What You Bring- Minimum 6 years of experience in a high-end millwork shop.
- Red Seal Ticketed journeyperson or equivalent.
- Highly skilled in cabinet and furniture making, and architectural millwork.
- Ability to perform basic regular maintenance of woodworking machines.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings with ease.
- A dedication to details and the highest standard of work.
- Self-motivated and goal driven.
- Ability to handle heavy materials.
- Have a valid BC driver’s license with no limitations.
