General Labour​/Forklift Operator

Intercity Packers Ltd., a leading meat/seafood distribution company in Western Canada and part of the Gordon Food Service (GFS) Canada group, is hiring a full‑time Production Worker/Forklift Operator for its Seafood Processing Division in Richmond. The position reports to the Production Supervisor and involves processing fish and operating a forklift in a cool, wet, fast‑paced environment.

• Full‑time, permanent
• Schedule:
  
  Monday – Friday, 9:00am – 5:30pm
• Wage: $22hour (paid weekly)

• Lifting fish and packaging into bags and boxes.
• Moving product from the freezer to the production area.
• Operating a forklift.
• Labeling boxes and creating ice bags and boxes.
• Pushing rolling buggies loaded with baskets of fish.
• Feeding fish into machines.
• Performing other duties as required.

• Reliable transportation.
• Comfortable working in a cold and wet environment.
• Experience operating a forklift (asset).
• Comfortable using a computer.
• Ability to walk and stand for long periods.
• Ability to learn and be trained in new skills and concepts.
• Knowledge of workplace safety and safe lifting/handling procedures (asset).
• Effective verbal and listening communication skills.
• Ability to lift a maximum of 50lbs.
