Product Engineer, Regulatory Compliance Specialist
Salary Range: $65,000.00 To $95,000.00 Annually

About the RoleWe are on the lookout for a passionate Senior Product Development Specialist to join our dynamic and growing team! In this role, you’ll play a key part in bringing innovative ideas and high quality products to life by helping to launch new products and refine existing ones that reach customers across Canada, the US, and international markets.
As a Senior Product Development Specialist, you’ll be at the center of collaboration, working closely with Quality Assurance, Graphics, Regulatory Affairs, Marketing, and Commercialization teams to keep projects on track and moving forward. You’ll help drive timelines, ensure seamless communication between departments, and provide visibility on project milestones so the entire team can celebrate progress together.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate new product formulations and reformulations by acting as the primary liaison between quality assurance, product development, regulatory affairs, marketing, sales, co-manufacturers, external agencies (ie consultants) and suppliers
- Create samples and coordinate taste testing of samples and prototypes
- Coordination of product development process and milestones to ensure reliable & timely launches of new products & reformulation launches
- Creation of NHP-NPN applications, along with supplementary documents needed for application
- Creation of nutritional fact table or Supplemented Food Facts Table, along with justification as part of label development
- Development of finished product specifications, stability justification files
- Identify risks, opportunities, and process improvements with product launch execution
- Collaborate with Marketing to assists with product education
- Contribute to the knowledge of and adherence to and ensure compliance with Quality system SOP’s and GMP’s
- Collaborate with co-manufacturers and suppliers on formulation, prototyping and technical specifications
- Create and organize Gantt Charts
- Create product specification in collaboration with Quality department
- Coordinate project with other departments effectively
- Masters degree in one of the following fields listed: biotech, chemistry, food science, or other related fields
- Minimum of 5+ years of practical work experience in project development management
- Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness, looks for ways to improve processes, applies feedback in a positive way to improve performance
- Excellent communication, prioritization, time management and organizational skills
- Strong sense of urgency to meet project and launch timelines
- Exceptional project management principles and practices with evident ability to multi-task and prioritize
- Communicate effectively, both in writing and in speaking with co-workers in a courteous and professional manner
- Proven ability to adapt to changing priorities and execute results within designated time frames
- Must be comfortable engaging at all levels of the organization
- Business focused, self –motivated and able to work independently with limited supervision
- Must be willing and able to work in our Vancouver HQ 5 days per week
- Knowledge of the natural health products regulations, and food and drugs regulations an asset
- Experience with Asana operating platform an asset
- Experience with ERP platform an asset
