A Day in the Life

A Day in the Life as a General Labourer at Cascadia Terminal, you will play an essential role in the safe and efficient movement of Canadian grain through all stages of terminal operations. From grain receiving and cleaning to storage, shipping, inventory management, and housekeeping, you will help ensure grain is handled safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.

Working in a fast-paced, 24/7 operating environment, you will operate and monitor terminal equipment, support Panel Control Room activities, perform inspections, and maintain a safe and clean workplace. You will work closely with supervisors, maintenance personnel, control room operators, and fellow team members to support continuous operations while maintaining a strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and operational excellence.

Position Details

• This position follows a rotating 6-on / 3-off schedule and requires availability for Day, Afternoon, and Graveyard shifts, including weekends and statutory holidays.
• The starting hourly rate is $48.50, along with eligibility for overtime.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Perform housekeeping activities throughout the terminal to maintain safety, cleanliness, and operational standards.
• Support grain receiving, cleaning, storage, inventory management, and shipping operations in accordance with established procedures.
• Operate and monitor terminal equipment and Panel Control Room systems to ensure safe, efficient, and quality-focused operations.
• Monitor operating conditions, identify operational issues, and report equipment deficiencies and maintenance requirements.
• Complete inspections, operational reports, logs, and related documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
• Communicate effectively with Supervisors, Control Room Operators, Maintenance personnel, and team members to coordinate daily activities.
• Participate in safety programs, hazard assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Follow all company policies, procedures, regulatory requirements, and safe work practices.
• Contribute positively to a team-oriented work environment focused on safety, reliability, and operational success.

Minimum Qualifications

• Mandatory:
  Ability to work a rotating 6-on / 3-off schedule including Day, Afternoon, Graveyard, weekend, and statutory holiday shifts.
• Mandatory:
  Successful completion of a pre-employment physical assessment, drug screening, and respirator fit test. Preferred Qualifications

  Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, climbing, shoveling, sweeping, and extended periods of walking.

  Ability to work safely in a grain handling environment and wear all required personal protective equipment, including respiratory protection.

Preferred Qualifications

• High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED).
• Previous experience in grain handling, agriculture, industrial operations, manufacturing, logistics, or terminal operations.
