MOSAIC is seeking a client-centered, results-oriented individual who is passionate about empowering clients to reach their personal and employment goals in the role of Employment Specialist, Boundary-Highgate Location. POSITION FUNCTION:  Under the supervision of the Manager of BC Settlement and Integration Services, the Employment Specialist provides employment support to clients, with a particular focus on individuals with basic or lower levels of English proficiency. The role includes developing foundational employment skills such as preparing resumes and job applications, understanding job postings, preparing for interviews, and building confidence in workplace communication.

Using an ESL-informed approach, the Employment Specialist facilitates accessible employment workshops and group sessions and works with employers, community organizations, and clients to identify employment opportunities, build community connections, and meet contractual targets.
KEY

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Identify trends and opportunities in the labour market and current business sector.
Maintain a working knowledge of local employment opportunities
Assisting clients with resume and cover letter writing, interview skills and job search skills
Facilitate, and/or represent the organization at employer and community events (e.g. job fairs, employer hiring events, industry presentations, etc.)
Solicit job postings and inform staff and clients (via email, job boards, etc.)
Engage in placement activities such as cold calling, follow-up on job leads, gathering job postings,…
