Job Description  Position Purpose summary:
The Salvation Army Christmas Kettle Campaign is part of a century old tradition to contribute towards building strong communities by helping TSA to give hope to others.
Hours of Work 20 hrs/wk. Tuesday to Saturday
Accountabilities  Incumbent may perform all, some, or similar range of duties as below.
Remain at the Kettle for the full shift (until relieved), ensuring security of donations received and security and proper use of Tip Tap equipment.
Respond to questions/queries from potential donors regarding SA ministries and programs.
Present a positive image (well-groomed/dressed) and represent TSA well while on duty.
Work with minimal supervision.
Must comply with all Salvation Army policies, procedures, and associated legislation.
Treat the property of The Salvation Army with due care and caution.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
FINANCIAL AND MATERIALS MANAGEMENT   Collect cash and cheque donations into kettle and Tip Tap donations, ensuring all are done securely.
Working Conditions  This is a temporary part time position based on no standard weekly hours of work; there will be up to 20 hours per week of work. Must be willing and able to work shifts that may include days, afternoons, evenings, weekend shifts, and split shifts, Monday through Saturday. Applicable shifts (longer than 4 hours) include a ½ hour unpaid meal break.

Flexibility in scheduling may be required, as the hours may increase as per the Christmas Kettle Campaign operational requirements. Required to wear appropriate Salvation Army identification. Local travel may be associated with this position. Work environment is typically in malls/stores or in entrances/outdoors. Standing for long periods will be required and exposure to cold weather.
Education, Qualifications and Certifications  Completed High School or equivalent Related experience is an asset
Skills and Capabilities  Excellent interpersonal skills, integrity, and adaptability. Ability to work with minimal supervision. Ability to communicate effectively with Kettle Coordinator and Kettle Drivers. Reliable transportation to kettle location. Able to lift 9 to 12 kgs (20-25 lbs). Work in compliance with OH&S Act and Regulations and abide by The Salvation Army's health and safety policies and procedures. Honest, courteous, and punctual;

represent the organization in a positive, professional, and engaging manner. Strong customer service skills; enjoy liaising and working with people of all ages and abilities. Willingness to be flexible and work well under pressure with daily timelines and changing priorities. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality in the handling of donors, volunteer, and organizational information. Treat the property of The Salvation Army with due care and caution.

Compensation  The target hiring range for this position is $18.25 to $21.74 with a maximum of $25.23. Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions, internal equity, and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.
