The salary range for this position is CAD $32.84/Hr.

- CAD $41.35/Hr. The Home 4 Us Household at Youville Residence is a flagship 6-person home that embodies the principles of the Home 4 Us model of care. H4U emphasizes emotional connections, self-directed care, and creating a true sense of home. The Licensed Practical Nurse Household collaborates closely with an interdisciplinary team to provide exceptional care to Household residents at Youville Residence.

The LPN Household encourages residents to participate in activities of daily life while respecting their autonomy and voice.

• A competitive Salary $32.84-$41.35 CAD
• Provide safe and respectful nursing care, adhering to the principles of the Home for Us model of care, individualized care plans, and priorities
• Encourage Household resident participation in activities of daily living, and activities of daily life according to the abilities, preferences, and routines of the resident
• Identify resident and their significant others’ actual and potential strengths and limitations including physiological, psychological, socio-cultural, and spiritual needs. Encourage involvement of patient/resident and their significant others in decisions that affect them, by respecting personal choices and providing information and opportunities to talk about their concerns
• Administer medications per protocol, monitor effects, and maintain communication with the team
• Respond to incidents such as codes, injuries, spills, and alarms, following procedures
• Assist with staff and student preceptor orientation, demonstrating procedures and providing support to staff to model the Home for Us model of care
• Address patient/resident and family learning needs, provide educational materials, and make referrals
• Attend care planning meetings, provide input, and advocate for patients/residents

• Graduation from a recognized program for Practical Nurses or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
• Registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing LPN registrant
• Current basic cardiac life support certification
• Demonstrated knowledge and ability to perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) procedures appropriate for the area of service
• Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position
• Ability to apply decision making and analytical skills
• Ability to role model conflict resolution strategies
• Ability to prioritize and organize work
• Ability to teach and identify patient/resident learning needs
