As a Staff Nurse, you'll be at the forefront of patient care, working collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team to ensure patients/residents receive comprehensive support. Your responsibilities will include:
- Assess patients' physical, social, spiritual, and psychological needs.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans.
- Incorporate teaching into care plans to educate patients and families.
- Make referrals to resources as needed.
- Support fellow healthcare professionals.
- Operate within the framework of Providence Health Care's mission, vision, and values.
Education:
- Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives.
Skills and Abilities:
- Demonstrated competence in performing CPR procedures.
- Experience in teamwork, decision-making and conflict resolution
- Demonstrated a teaching aptitude
- Proficient in clinical leadership.
- A strong desire to expand your professional skills and a commitment to lifelong learning in the nursing field.
- A competitive salary: The salary range for this position is $41.42-$55.91 per hour, depending on experience.

* Acute : Palliative care focuses more on acute pain and symptom management needs. Many patients may go home after their time in palliative care or transfer to hospice or long-term care. - May’s Place (6 beds)
* Sub-Acute : Downtown Eastside, where people have problems with mental health and substance abuse. - St. John’s Hospice (14 beds)
* Sub-Acute: Hospice care is intended for those who are going through their last days of life and are receiving care for end of life. The first community hospice on Vancouver's West Side and is situated in a beautiful location on the University of British Columbia's campus.
Your Day to Day:
- Conduct thorough patient/resident assessments through chart reviews, observations, interviews, and collaboration with peers
- Develop, implement, and evaluate nursing care plans based on evidence-based practices, prioritizing patient/resident needs.
- Adhere to established policies, procedures, and PHC standards while providing high-quality nursing care
- Monitor patient/resident progress, evaluate outcomes, and adjust care plans as needed for optimal results
