As an RN/RPN in LTC, you will develop individualized care plans, supervise care staff, and collaborate with physicians and families to ensure the highest quality of life for residents. Youville Residence is a long‑term care home that is home to 42 residents, staffed by a care team who love being there, as evidenced by the long‑tenured team. It is the pilot site for Home for Us, an innovative social‑relational model of care whereby residents' social‑emotional wellbeing is at the forefront of their care, residents direct their care, and the belief that home is not a place, it's a feeling.
WhatYou Bring
Education:
- Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives
Skills & Abilities:
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Demonstrated knowledge and ability to perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) procedures appropriate for the area of service.
- Ability to work as a member in an interdisciplinary team.
- Ability to apply decision making and analytical skills.

Your Day to Day:
- Provides safe and respectful nursing care to assigned patients/residents in accordance with policies, individualized care plans, and care priorities.
- Performs comprehensive assessments, monitors for abnormal signs or lab results, and collaborates with RN/RPN and interdisciplinary team for complex cases.
- Communicates and implements physician orders, including transcribing and processing them accurately.
- Documents all care activities such as assessments, treatments, medication administration, and discharge planning in manual or electronic records.
- Prepares and assists with surgical/diagnostic procedures, transfers, and admissions, ensuring coordination with physicians and care team members.
- Administers medications (excluding IV), monitors effects, and maintains communication with RN/RPN and team as needed.
- Participates in education, incident response, orientation, and care planning while promoting patient/family involvement and supporting discharge planning
