Summary:
Are you an experienced Registered Nurse looking to specialize in delivering care to acutely ill patients in a high acuity setting? Providence Health Care will cover 100% of your tuition and books for this fully funded education and training opportunity. Once trained, you’ll step into a full-time role in Mount St. Joseph’s High Acuity Department, where you’ll gain valuable experience in a fast-paced yet supportive environment.

Reporting to the Operations Leader, the Registered Nurse:
- Assesses, identifies, plans, implements and evaluates the nursing care required to assist patients/residents in meeting their physical, social, spiritual and psychological needs using an established framework for nursing practice.
- Develops, implements, evaluates and revises the plan of care.
- Incorporates individual and/or group teaching into the care plan and nursing interventions and/or makes referrals to other identified resources.
Supports other nurses and health care professionals by collegially sharing information and demonstrating procedures.

What You BringEducation:
- Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
- Minimum of 1-2 year medical/surgical experience (preferred)
- Not eligible for those who have received Post-Basic Education Funding from PHC for the past 2 years
- Applicant must successfully complete the Post-Basic Education prior to working in the Department. PHC will fund Post-Basic Education. Funding will consist of 100% for tuition and books; and wages at rate of 100% of posted FTE
