What You Will Do Summary

Are you a Med-Surg RN looking to grow your career in a highly specialized area? We’re currently hiring for our GI Endoscopy Training Opportunity l’s Hospital!

This is a fully funded, 7-week training program offered by Providence Health Care. Upon successful completion, you’ll move into a regular full-time position in our GI Endoscopy Unit.

An 18-month return-of-service agreement is required for this opportunity.

As a Staff Nurse, you'll be at the forefront of patient care, working collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team to ensure patients/residents receive comprehensive support.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assess patients' physical, social, spiritual, and psychological needs.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans.
  • Incorporate teaching into care plans to educate patients and families.
  • Make referrals to resources as needed.
  • Support fellow healthcare professionals.
  • Operate within the framework of Providence Health Care's mission, vision, and values.
What You Bring

Education

  • Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives.
  • Minimum one-years’ experience in medicine or surgical nursing.
  • Previous perioperative, emergency, or catheterization lab experience preferred.

Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and ability to perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) procedures appropriate for the area of service.
  • Ability to work as a member in an interdisciplinary team.
  • Ability to apply decision-making and analytical skills.
  • Ability to deal with others effectively.

    Ability to role model conflict resolution strategies.
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize work.
  • Ability to operate related equipment.
  • Ability to teach and identify patient learning needs.
  • Ability to lead patient/family group sessions.
  • Ability to provide clinical direction.
