We are hiring Operating Room Registered Nurses l's Hospital, who thrive in a fast‑paced environment and play a critical role in life‑changing surgical care!

As a Staff Nurse, you'll be at the forefront of patient care, working collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team to ensure patients/residents receive comprehensive support.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assess patients' physical, social, spiritual, and psychological needs.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans.
  • Incorporate teaching into care plans to educate patients and families.
  • Make referrals to resources as needed.
  • Support fellow healthcare professionals.
  • Operate within the framework of Providence Health Care's mission, vision, and values.
What You Bring

Education
:

  • You must be a registered nurse in Canada in good standing and be eligible for registration with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
  • Completion of a post graduate operating room course, or two years’ recent experience in an equivalent setting.

Skills and Abilities
:

  • Demonstrated competence in performing CPR procedures.
  • Experience in teamwork, decision‑making and conflict resolution.
  • Demonstrated a teaching aptitude.
  • Proficient in clinical leadership.
  • A strong desire to expand your professional skills and a commitment to lifelong learning in the nursing field.

Your Day to Day:

  • Conduct thorough patient/resident assessments through chart reviews, observations, interviews, and collaboration with peers.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate nursing care plans based on evidence‑based practices, prioritizing patient/resident needs.
  • Adhere to established policies, procedures, and PHC standards while providing high‑quality nursing care.
  • Monitor patient/resident progress, evaluate outcomes, and adjust care plans as needed for optimal results.
  • Maintain accurate records of assessments, care plans, patient/resident status, and discharge plans using manual and computerized systems.
  • Identify and address patient/resident and family learning needs, providing education and referrals as necessary.
  • Provide direction to staff, promote teamwork, and share clinical knowledge to enhance patient care.
