The salary range for this position is CAD $41.42/Hr.

SummaryAs a Staff Nurse at Providence Health, you'll be at the forefront of patient care, working collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team to ensure patients/residents receive comprehensive support.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Assess patients' physical, social, spiritual, and psychological needs.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans.
- Incorporate teaching into care plans to educate patients and families.
- Make referrals to resources as needed.
- Support fellow healthcare professionals.
- Operate within the framework of Providence Health Care's mission, vision, and values.
Minimum Nurse-to-Patient Ratios (mNPR) set the minimum number of nurses required to safely care for patients on a given unit. Developed in partnership with the Ministry of Health, the BC Nurses' Union (BCNU), and health organizations across British Columbia, mNPR provides a consistent and transparent approach to staffing that supports safe nursing practice and high-quality patient care. You Bring
Education:
- Current practising registration as a Registered Nurse with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives, or in Residential Care and Mental Health, current practising registration as a Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives.
- Completion of a post graduate critical care course, or two years' recent experience in an equivalent setting.
Skills and Abilities:
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills, ability to deal with others effectively.
- Physical capability to perform the duties of the position.
- Organisational skills to manage work effectively.
- Proficiency in operating related equipment.

Patients in critical care are those who are critically ill, seriously injured and/or need close monitoring. l’s Hospital, we have a critical care complex. It has three different critical care units, each for a specific condition:
- Intensive Care Unit (ICU) : for patients experiencing an unexpected life‑threatening illness. Some examples are sepsis, pneumonia or multi‑organ dysfunction.
- Cardiac ICU (CICU) :
For critically ill patients whose main concern is of a cardiac nature. Some examples are heart attack or myocardial infarction. - Cardiac Surgery ICU (CSICU) :
For patients who have undergone cardiac surgery. Examples are heart surgery or heart transplant. Sometimes these surgeries are planned. Other times, they are due to a sudden heart problem.
