Mental Health Registered Nurse in Geriatrics

In the Geriatric Psychiatry Unit, you will utilize your nursing expertise to assess patient needs and implement care strategies. You will ensure patient safety in crisis situations while providing educational support to families. Collaboratively work with Care Attendants and Licensed Practical Nurses, enhancing overall team effectiveness and quality of care.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assess and monitor patient health status regularly
• Manage crises with timely nursing interventions
• Collaborate effectively with your healthcare team
• Provide necessary educational resources to patients and families
• Document observations and adapt care plans accordingly
Requirements:
• Current practicing registration with British Columbia's nursing board
• Recent experience in acute psychiatry or equivalent
• Excellent communication and teaching abilities
• Proficient in crisis response and CPR
• Capable of physical tasks required by the role
