Providence Health Care’s Mental Health Program is accepting applications for the Alder Neuropsychiatry Long Term Stabilization Unit cent’s Hospital, Langara site. Alder serves clients ages 18‑64 with a range of neuropsychiatric conditions. Shifts will primarily be 07:00‑19:00 and 19:00‑07:00.
Responsibilities- Patient Care and Assessment:
Review patient status, assess problems and needs, develop, implement, and evaluate personalized care plans. - Crisis Management and Interventions:
Provide direct nursing interventions for crisis and life‑threatening situations. - Team Collaboration and Supervision:
Offer clinical direction and support to Care Attendants and Licensed Practical Nurses; participate in interdisciplinary team activities. - Patient and Family
Education:
Identify learning needs, provide educational materials, lead group sessions, and coach patients and families toward health‑promoting behaviors.
Education
- Current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives as a Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse.
- One year recent experience in acute psychiatry or tertiary mental health, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

- Effective verbal and written communication.
- Demonstrated CPR competence appropriate for the area of service.

- Competitive salary: $41.42 – $55.91 CAD per hour, based on experience.
