Position: Forensic Nursing Role at Island Health
Become a Forensic Nurse Examiner at Vancouver Island Health Authority to provide critical care in sensitive situations. This role requires expertise in forensic nursing and patient safety practices.
In this position, you will be an essential part of the nursing team, collaborating closely with the Clinical Nurse Leader. Candidates must be registered as an RN or RPN with two years of relevant experience. Your responsibilities will include comprehensive patient assessment and forensic care, alongside required travel and on-call duties for urgent cases.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide forensic nursing and SANE services to patients

• Partner with a diverse team of health and legal professionals

• Adhere to ethical nursing principles

• Assess patient care needs with minimal supervision

• Ensure effective organization and prioritization of patient tasks
Requirements:

• Registered with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives

• Two years nursing experience or equivalent

• Completion of a recognized Sexual Assault/Forensic program

• Valid BC Driver’s License required

• Willingness to work evenings and on-call shifts
