Job Summary Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) desired for the Lily Lee Community Health Centre within the Groundspring Mental Health team, Vancouver, BC. The role offers a client and family‑centred framework and continuum‑based care model, with a focus on Indigenous Cultural Safety, cultural humility, and anti‑racism principles.
Responsibilities Perform practical nursing functions for clients with stable or predictable health states within the designated care area, including assessment, care planning, implementation, evaluation, and documentation of client care.
Provide direct support to clients and their families, collaborating with the inter‑professional care team.
Participate in a team nursing approach with a Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RN/RPN) when caring for clients with unpredictable outcomes or higher acuity.
Maintain and advance clinical competence as required by the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) standards of practice for LPNs.
Qualifications Graduated from a recognized Practical Nurse program.
Completed additional education where mental health and/or substance use were primary diagnoses, as outlined by the BCCNM or equivalent training.
Current practising registration as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with the BCCNM.
Valid B.C. Driver’s licence and access to a personal vehicle for business‑related purposes (including client accompaniment).
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Knowledge of mental health treatment principles within a client and family model of care.
Understanding of mental health resources and referral services.
Comprehensive knowledge of other health‑care disciplines and their roles.
Proficiency in BCCNM standards for LPNs.
Ability to assess suicide and violence risk and manage aggressive behaviour using violence prevention and behavioural management techniques.
CPR competency.
Trauma‑informed practice, harm reduction, and strengths‑based care understanding.
Promotion of Indigenous Cultural Safety and culturally safe care in diverse settings.
Use of recovery‑oriented care models.
Rapport building, observation of client changes, organization, prioritization, and problem‑solving skills.
Work independently and collaboratively within an inter‑qualified team.
Operation of related equipment.
Basic computer literacy for clinical and administrative tasks.
Physical ability to perform job duties.
Salary Hourly rate: CAD $32.84 to $41.35.
