Eastside Relational Care Nurse

Position: Downtown Eastside Relational Care Nurse
Step into a fulfilling nursing role with Kilala Lelum Health and Wellness Cooperative as a Relational Care Nurse. This position, covering 0.6 FTE, revolves around culturally informed healthcare for the Downtown Eastside.

In this role, you will provide compassionate nursing services to members in our outreach-based Relational Care program. Focused on enhancing health equity, you will support daily operations, including medication management and community referrals. You’ll perform assessments and conduct wound care while helping to establish important connections with Elders and healthcare providers, ensuring members receive comprehensive care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Establish relationships and offer culturally safe support

• Undertake outreach for medication deliveries

• Record patient data accurately in EMR OSCAR

• Conduct assessments and manage medication needs

• Assist in training new nursing personnel

Requirements:

• Current BC College of Nurses and Midwives registration

• Prior nursing experience in primary care

• Valid CPR/BLS certification

• Ability to manage crisis situations effectively

• Knowledge of Indigenous cultures preferred
