RN – Critical Care Float | Full-Time Days

Peace Health is seeking a compassionate and adaptable Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Critical Care Float Team . Position DetailsSchedule: Full-Time, 0.90 FTE, Days
Pay Range: $45.78–$82.98 per hour
Compensation is based on experience, education, certifications, seniority, and applicable union agreements.
This is a union-represented position .

As a Critical Care Float RN, you will:
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care for critically ill patients.
Provide expert nursing care in a variety of critical care environments.
Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.
Document patient care accurately and according to established standards.
Delegate responsibilities appropriately while supporting a culture of teamwork and accountability.
Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, and infection prevention initiatives.
Maintain clinical excellence through ongoing education and professional development.
This float position primarily supports critical care departments, including:
Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
Emergency Department (ED)
Cardiovascular Unit (CVU)
Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)
Following orientation, you'll be expected to provide care for a broad spectrum of critically ill patients, including:
Medical and surgical patients
Cardiac patients
Neurological patients
Trauma patients
Required
Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon hire.
Minimum two years of recent experience as an RN in one of the following areas:
Emergency Department (ED)
Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
ICU Stepdown Unit
Ability to develop and demonstrate competency in caring for complex critical care patients across multiple specialties.
Preferred
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Experience in multiple critical care settings.
CDU and/or PCU experience.
ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) within 6 months
NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification within 6 months
Strong critical-thinking and clinical decision-making skills.
Ability to adapt quickly to different care environments and patient populations.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Commitment to patient- and family-centered care.
Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
Basic computer proficiency.
This role requires the ability to:
Safely care for critically ill and high-acuity patients.
Operate specialized medical equipment and perform precise clinical procedures.
Push/pull medical equipment up to 45 pounds.
Perform CPR when needed.
Frequently bend, reach, kneel, squat, and move throughout patient care areas.
Work in environments where exposure to biohazards, body fluids, and airborne particles may occur.
