Join the movement for health equity at Kilala Lelum Health and Wellness Cooperative as a Relational Care Nurse. This 0.6 FTE role emphasizes culturally safe nursing in the Downtown Eastside community.
The Relational Care Nurse will provide essential support in a drop-in program dedicated to holistic health and wellness. You’ll engage with community members, perform assessments, and manage medication delivery, ensuring culturally informed care is accessible to those most in need. Collaborating with a team, your outreach efforts will be crucial in connecting members with food, medicine, and cultural resources.
Key Responsibilities:
• Foster supportive relationships with patients
• Engage in outreach for healthcare and food needs
• Document patient interactions in EMR OSCAR
• Administer medication management for chronic conditions
• Mentor nursing students and assist in team training
Requirements:
• Must be registered with BCCNM
• Minimum one year experience in a health-focused role
• CPR/BLS certification required
• Skills in conflict resolution and communication
• Experience with Indigenous communities beneficial
