VCH Community Mental Health Nurse Position

Join Vancouver Coastal Health as a Community Mental Health and Substance Use Nurse. This role focuses on delivering comprehensive nursing care for adults facing mental health and substance use disorders.

In this position, you will be part of an interdisciplinary team, providing holistic care based on established professional standards. Candidates must hold a valid RN or RPN registration and have two years of recent nursing experience. Demonstrating knowledge of therapeutic practices and crisis intervention is essential for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver holistic nursing care to clients with complex needs

• Engage in collaborative care planning with community service providers

• Conduct risk assessments and promote client safety

• Facilitate communication and support among care teams

• Apply therapeutic techniques and harm reduction strategies

Requirements:

• Registration with the BCCNM as RN or RPN required

• Two years' experience in mental health nursing preferred

• Valid B.C. Driver's License may be necessary

• Demonstrated knowledge of relevant mental health legislation

• Experience working with diverse client populations
