What You Will Do
Summary
As a Staff Nurse at Providence Health, you'll be at the forefront of patient care, working collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team to ensure patients/residents receive comprehensive support.

Your responsibilities will include:

Assess patients' physical, social, spiritual, and psychological needs.

Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans.

Incorporate teaching into care plans to educate patients and families.

Make referrals to resources as needed.

Support fellow healthcare professionals.

Operate within the framework of Providence Health Care's mission, vision, and values.

Minimum Nurse-to-Patient Ratio
Minimum Nurse-to-Patient Ratios (mNPR) set the minimum number of nurses required to safely care for patients on a given unit. Developed in partnership with the Ministry of Health, the BC Nurses' Union (BCNU), and health organizations across British Columbia, mNPR provides a consistent and transparent approach to staffing that supports safe nursing practice and high‑quality patient care. What You Bring

Education:

Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives, or in Residential Care and Mental Health, current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives.

Completion of a post graduate critical care course, or two years' recent experience in an equivalent setting.

Skills and Abilities:

Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Strong interpersonal skills, ability to deal with others effectively.

Physical capability to perform the duties of the position.

Organizational skills to manage work effectively.

Proficiency in operating related equipment.
