Ready to take that next step in your OR nursing career? Join our dynamic Operating Room leadership team as a Clinical Nurse Leader supporting our Procedure Room and Plastics program. PHC's OR team is now hiring for a permanent, full-time Clinical Nurse Leader. What you will be doing
  • Leading daily OR operations by coordinating staffing, assignments and patient flow, monitoring changing clinical needs and acuity, troubleshooting operational challenges and adjusting resources to keep the unit running safely and efficiently.
  • Providing clinical leadership and support by acting as a resource to nurses, students and interdisciplinary team members, supporting clinical decision-making, troubleshooting concerns and providing direct nursing care as required.
  • Developing and supporting the nursing team by orienting and coaching staff, identifying learning needs, supporting education and professional development, and providing input into performance planning and clinical skill development.
  • Advancing quality and practice improvement by collaborating with the Operations Leader and interdisciplinary teams on quality improvement, research, education, policy and practice initiatives that strengthen patient care and the perioperative environment.
Minimum Nurse-to-Patient Ratio

Minimum Nurse-to-Patient Ratios (mNPR) set the minimum number of nurses required to safely care for patients on a given unit. Education

  • Registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN registrant, qualifications required of staff nurse in clinical area, plus three years of recent related experience in clinical specialty, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • For Clinical Nurse Leader vacancies in mental health services and in extended and intermediate care services, positions will be dual posted for Registered Nurse/Registered Psychiatric Nurse with current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN or a practicing RPN registrant.
