Mental Health Nurse Coastal Health

Join Vancouver Coastal Health as a Mental Health Nurse, providing essential care for clients with mental illness and substance use challenges. This position emphasizes therapeutic relationships and individualized treatment in a client-centered model.

This role requires current registration as a Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse with experience in mental health care. You will assess client needs, implement care plans, and foster collaboration with families and health teams. In addition, you will enhance client quality of life while engaging in rehabilitation strategies for complex conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide individualized nursing care to clients with mental illness

• Develop strength-based treatment plans in collaboration with families

• Conduct psychosocial assessments and monitor client responses

• Maintain accurate client records and participate in team meetings

• Administer prescribed medications and educate clients on treatment

Requirements:

• Current registration with BCCNM as RN or RPN

• 240 hours of clinical practicum in mental health

• Knowledge of concurrent disorders and harm reduction

• Ability to manage conflict and apply crisis intervention

• Skill in documenting care accurately and timely
