As a vital part of the Vancouver Community MHSU team, the Mental Health Nurse provides tailored nursing care to adults facing moderate to severe conditions. You will work within a supportive environment that values Indigenous cultural safety and evidence-based practices while implementing the minimum Nurse to Patient Ratios policy. Your expertise in therapeutic communication and crisis intervention will be essential to ensure client wellness and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver holistic nursing care to clients with mental health issues
• Apply therapeutic communication and crisis management strategies
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team
• Facilitate client-centered care within community settings
• Identify and mitigate key health risks for clients
Requirements:
• Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse certification
• Minimum two years nursing experience in mental health
• Knowledge of psychopharmacology and care coordination
• Strong understanding of trauma-informed and recovery-oriented care
• Valid BC Driver's License may be required
