What You’ll Be DoingAs our Landscape Construction Lead Hand, you’ll work closely with the Foreman to lead a small crew and ensure projects are completed with quality, efficiency, and pride. You’ll be hands-on while guiding less experienced crew members and helping deliver top-tier landscape projects.
Hardscape Responsibilities- Building patios, stairs, retaining walls, fences, and stone features
- Reading and interpreting landscape plans and drawings
- Operating tools and equipment such as skid steers, excavators, and cut-off saws
- Installing water features, artificial turf, sod, and plants
- Maintaining and finishing landscape details to a high standard
- Leading and mentoring 2 – 4 crew members on site
- Supporting the Foreman in managing daily tasks and timelines
- Encouraging teamwork, safety, and quality workmanship
- Assisting with material handling and site organization
- Performing routine maintenance on tools and equipment
- Supporting snow removal during winter months
- Minimum 2 years of landscape construction experience (hardscape focus preferred)
- Minimum 1 year experience operating skid steers and excavators
- Able to read and understand landscape construction plans
- Physically fit and capable of lifting 50+ lbs regularly
- Valid Class 5 BC driver’s license with a clean abstract
- Reliable vehicle to travel to job sites across Metro Vancouver
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills
- Experience operating trucks with trailers
- Ability to calculate material quantities for daily tasks
- Basic digital literacy for time tracking and communication
This is a physically active role requiring lifting, bending, and working outdoors in all weather conditions across Metro Vancouver. You’ll spend most of your time on site, building and creating exceptional outdoor spaces.
