As a full-time, permanent Scientific Officer, you will drive key companion animal welfare policies in alignment with BC SPCA's mission. This role requires managing relationships with various stakeholders while developing advocacy materials that address root causes of animal suffering. Your expertise will guide systems-level improvements in animal welfare through research and education.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement welfare policy initiatives
• Manage relationships with industry and animal welfare organizations
• Conduct research and prepare evidence-based reports
• Monitor trends in animal welfare research
• Support advocacy campaigns with partners
Requirements:
• Graduate-level education in relevant sciences
• Minimum of eight years’ experience in animal welfare
• Proven project and program management skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
