Animal Care Technician

Position: Xenon Pharmaceuticals Animal Care Technician
Xenon Pharmaceuticals is hiring an Animal Care Technician in Vancouver, BC, to support preclinical research in a certified environment focused on ethical animal care.

As part of the Xenon team, the Animal Care Technician will perform husbandry duties and maintain high standards of animal welfare in a well-regarded research facility. This on-site role involves meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to ethical practices in animal care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide daily husbandry services for mice and rats

• Ensure cleanliness and maintenance of the research facility

• Monitor animal health according to CCAC guidelines

• Accurately document health checks and manage health records

• Assist with research procedures in collaboration with the team

Requirements:

• Desired post-secondary education in life sciences

• Previous experience with animal care is advantageous

• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills

• Ability to communicate clearly and work effectively in teams

• Physical capability to lift and handle animals as required
