MSALABS is an experienced global provider of geochemical laboratory services to the exploration and mining industries in Canada, the USA and around the world. We have a rapidly growing network of laboratories in key mining regions around the world to limit lead times and transit costs and we employ the latest hi‑tech analysis equipment.
We are looking for a dedicated and detail orientated self‑starter who has the following skills and experience:
Responsibilities   Carry out fire assay procedures in accordance with documented SOP’s or recognized standard reference methods.
Report any deviation from documented procedures to the Fire Assay Supervisor and that approval is obtained prior to reporting any analytical result.
Inform the Fire Assay Supervisor of any non‑conforming event related to customer samples, analytical testing or other laboratory operations.
Follow all HSE protocols.
Inform the Fire Assay Supervisor of any unsafe conditions in the department.
Act in a protected and professional manner and wear appropriate attire including the required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Ensure proper functioning of fire assay operations by:
Monitoring the performance of the instruments.
Ensuring adequate inventory of laboratory consumable supplies and chemicals.
Practicing good housekeeping.
Communicating general laboratory issues to the fire assay supervisor as appropriate.
Performing other duties as required by management.
Submitting to testing for lead exposure on a regular basis.
Requirements   1-3 years’ experience in a commercial laboratory
Able to work effectively in a team environment as well as independently.
Excellent Communication skills (written and spoken) in English.
Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask.
Detail orientated and ability to work very well under pressure.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Experience   Laboratory: 1 year
