Location

Kelowna, Kamloops, Prince George, Prince Rupert, Vancouver or Victoria – full‑time on‑site presence required.

Program Overview

The Indigenous Pathways Program is a nine‑month, paid, full‑time career launchpad that empowers First Nations, Inuit, and Métis storytellers. From October 2026 to June 2027 participants receive specialized training in multimedia journalism, immersive newsroom placement, and dedicated career mentorship.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engage in a guided professional journey that includes training, skill building, newsroom placement, and craft cultivation.
  • Produce multimedia content (audio, video, written) for CBC outlets.
  • Collaborate with mentors, trainers, peers, and Indigenous CBC colleagues.
  • Amplify Indigenous community stories and perspectives.
Qualifications
  • First Nations, Inuk or Métis with a connection to an Indigenous nation or community.
  • Aspiring to develop a career with the CBC.
  • Strong storytelling examples and ideas.
  • Collaborative, principled, with strong critical‑thinking skills.
