Position: Materials Lab Technician with City
Help elevate construction quality as a Materials Lab Technician with the City of Vancouver. This temporary full-time role focuses on inspecting and testing materials for civil projects.

The City of Vancouver is seeking an Engineering Technician to conduct inspections and quality control in the Materials Lab. Ideal candidates will have experience in construction inspection and materials testing, ensuring adherence to construction standards. Proficiency with MS Office and effective communication skills are essential in this crucial role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Inspect and test construction materials for quality assurance

• Monitor private contractors and utility compliance with specifications

• Conduct engineering tests, including concrete and soil analyses

• Prepare technical reports and metrics for stakeholders

• Communicate quality control results effectively

Requirements:

• Grade 12 education and technical courses preferred

• Experience in materials laboratory and inspection work

• Handling nuclear densometers experience is a plus

• Eligibility for certification with ASTTBC preferred

• Valid driver's license with recent driving records
