The selected candidate will perform a variety of laboratory and quality assurance activities, including sampling and analysis of in-process and finished products, environmental testing, laboratory equipment calibration, and preparation of Certificates of Analysis.

The role will also support the facility's Quality and Food Safety Management System through non-conformance investigations, corrective actions, product holds, HACCP activities, GMP inspections, and data analysis. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform environmental sampling and testing, including effluent monitoring, to support regulatory and environmental compliance.
  • Investigate product and process non-conformances, support root cause analysis, manage product holds, and follow up on corrective actions.
  • Support the facility's HACCP, GMP, food safety, and Quality Management Systems through inspections, verification activities, documentation, and continuous improvement.
  • Perform laboratory equipment calibration, verification, and troubleshooting while maintaining a clean and compliant laboratory environment.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Engineering, Chemistry, Environmental Engineering, Microbiology, Biology, Biotechnology, or a related scientific discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a food processing, quality assurance, or related industrial laboratory environment.
  • Strong knowledge of HACCP and GFSI-recognized food safety standards and programs.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, with experience using ERP, laboratory, or quality management systems considered an asset.
