Position SummaryNano Vation Therapeutics is seeking a Scientist III, Preclinical to join our team for a 12‑month contract. This role is ideal for a strong and collaborative communicator who thrives in a fast‑paced research environment. Reporting to the Senior Scientist II, Preclinical – Team Lead, the Scientist III, Preclinical will be responsible for designing, executing, analyzing, and making recommendations on preclinical research to advance our research projects.
ResponsibilitiesPreclinical Research
- Mentors and executes in vivo and in vitro research in support of our research goals and plans; internal and external projects.
- Independently designs, executes, and troubleshoots preclinical activities in support of pharmaceutical formulation performance.
- Generates, analyzes, tabulates data and results, writes/reviews reports and provides recommendations.
- Assists with downstream processing of in vivo and in vitro samples for flow cytometry, DNA, RNA, and protein extraction for luminescence/fluorescence measurements, qPCR and other immunological assays as needed.
- Follows SOPs; generates and maintains thorough and accurate documentation.
- Makes recommendations based on data analysis.
- Openly communicates challenges and proposes solutions.
- Additional responsibilities as required.
- Leads and helps guide project teamwork.
- Provides oversight and technical support to other project teams.
- Prepares and executes multiple internal and external project plans.
- Prepares and reviews study reports and technical presentations for internal use and for clients.
- Collaborates and interacts with partners and other groups/departments in the organization on related projects to develop, characterize, and test formulations.
- Conducts relevant scientific literature searches.
- Fosters scientific discussions with team members to support critical analysis of literature and generated data.
- Establishes new capabilities based on literature review.
- Identifies novel research opportunities.
- Assists in the writing of patent applications.
- Develops patentable ideas.
- Develops the scientific team through mentoring, supervising, and providing guidance on assigned projects.
- Supports and encourages the personal and professional growth and development of team members.
- PhD in Immunology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a Life Sciences discipline, and 5‑7+ years of related scientific experience, or the equivalent education and experience.
- Expert knowledge and experience in a broad range of preclinical methodologies including use of nanoparticles in experimental in vitro and in vivo systems, development of novel assays and methods to assess nanoparticle efficacy and immunogenicity.
- Demonstrated leadership in positively leading and mentoring team members.

- Salary range $80,000 – $1,000 (Your employment offer will be determined based on many factors as part of our total rewards package.)
