This PhD-level position, based in Vancouver, entails exceptional research skills in fish physiology and gill resection. You will engage in project design, execution, data analysis, and mentoring students while contributing to ongoing studies and initiatives within the Department of Zoology and the Biodiversity Research Centre.
Key Responsibilities:
• Participate in research activities at the Department of Zoology
• Support studies on fish physiology and gill regeneration
• Contribute to project design, data analysis, and publication
• Mentor undergraduate and graduate students
Requirements:
• PhD in comparative or fish physiology with 4+ years postdoctoral experience
• Strong scientific writing and publication record
• Experience in salmon rearing and husbandry
• Proficient in quantitative image analysis and biochemical assays
• Familiar with histology, RNAseq, and immunohistology techniques
