This position involves extensive lab work in genomics and molecular biology, focusing on identifying genomic markers to prevent adverse drug reactions. Candidates should possess significant practical experience with techniques such as DNA extraction, genotyping, and western blotting. You’ll lead experiment planning, conduct research, and train new lab members while ensuring compliance with ethical standards and UBC policies.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead planning and design of laboratory experiments
• Conduct and analyze experiments, preparing study reports
• Maintain lab supplies through inventory management
• Train new lab staff and students on policies and procedures
• Extract DNA/RNA and perform specialized genotyping assays
Requirements:
• University degree in relevant field or technical program
• Minimum 4 years of related lab experience
• Familiarity with genomic assays and next-generation sequencing
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and manage lab projects
