Drive innovation as a Research Scientist at UBC's Smart Structures, focusing on smart construction and advanced AI solutions. This role combines research leadership with real-world applications.
You will join the UBC Smart Structures team, coordinating research under the supervision of Prof. T.Y. Yang. By leading projects related to AI-enabled construction and structural health monitoring, you'll ensure alignment with cutting-edge technological advancements. Engaging with students and research assistants will be a key aspect of your role.
Key Responsibilities:
• Coordinate multiple smart construction research initiatives
• Design advanced data acquisition and sensing systems
• Develop AI solutions for energy monitoring
• Integrate technologies for effective experimental research
• Mentor graduate students and postdoctoral researchers
Requirements:
• Undergraduate degree in Engineering or Applied Science
• Minimum one year of related experience in research
• Ability to respect diverse perspectives within the team
• Commitment to understanding equity, diversity, and inclusion
• Advanced degrees preferred in relevant fields
