As a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at TRIUMF in Vancouver, British Columbia, you will engage in developing sensitivity studies for the large-scale liquid xenon observatory, XLZD. Your work will focus on rare-event physics, including searches for WIMP dark matter and neutrinoless double beta decay. Candidates are expected to apply machine learning techniques and possess strong expertise in experimental particle physics.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop XLZD simulation framework and validate its performance
• Conduct sensitivity studies using advanced analysis techniques
• Support calibration studies and detector R&D
• Prepare reports and present findings at conferences
• Mentor undergraduate and graduate students
Requirements:
• Recent PhD in particle physics or related field
• Experience in data analysis and Monte Carlo simulations
• Proficient in C++, ROOT, and Geant4
• Knowledge of detector technologies and systems
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
