Position: Biological Chemistry Research Associate Role
Embark on a pivotal role as a Research Associate in Biological Chemistry at the Ryan Lab, UBC. Focus on natural products while engaging in purification and structural characterization.

This position is set for one year, starting in September 2026, with a commitment of 0.8 FTE. Ideal candidates should possess a Ph.D. in Chemistry, Natural Medicinal Chemistry, Biochemistry, or Molecular Biology, alongside five years of postdoctoral experience in natural products research. The role emphasizes advanced analytical skills and the execution of experiments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Purify and characterize natural products via NMR techniques

• Employ analytical and organic chemistry principles in research

• Investigate biosynthetic pathways utilizing various methodologies

Requirements:

• Ph.D. in relevant scientific fields

• Minimum of 5 years of postdoctoral experience

• Expertise in microbiology and organic molecule analysis

• Strong publication history and communication skills

• Ability to mentor and lead young researchers
