As a co-op student at TRIUMF, you will help develop and characterize single photon detectors utilized for dark matter research. This role involves using cryogenic and vacuum systems for testing, alongside contributing to a new measurement apparatus. You will gain invaluable skills in electronics, measurement techniques, and data analysis throughout your term.
Key Responsibilities:
• Characterize semiconductor single photon detectors
• Operate cryogenic and vacuum systems for testing
• Help design new measurement infrastructure
• Develop mounting hardware and electronics
• Create software for control and data analysis
Requirements:
• Background knowledge in optoelectronics (asset)
• Familiarity with cryogenics and vacuum systems (asset)
• Experience with electronic instrumentation (asset)
• Good problem-solving abilities
• Enrollment in an accredited academic program
