Join WSP as a Principal Archaeologist focused on heritage projects in British Columbia. This role emphasizes the importance of cultural preservation while supporting development initiatives across the province.
The ideal candidate will be based in the Lower Mainland and responsible for guiding archaeological field investigations and ensuring compliance with local regulations. Collaborate with Indigenous communities and enhance project delivery while mentoring less experienced staff. Bring your ten-plus years of expertise to this impactful role.
Key Responsibilities:
• Ensure compliance with the Heritage Conservation Act during projects
• Manage project budgets, schedules, and reporting obligations
• Design and execute archaeological investigations and analysis
• Establish strong relationships with Indigenous nations and clients
• Supervise staff and promote safety in project execution
Requirements:
• A graduate or advanced degree in Archaeology or Anthropology
• 10+ years of consulting archaeology experience
• In good standing as a Registered Professional Consulting Archaeologist
• Experience with relationship building in Indigenous communities
• Valid Class 5 driver's license required
