Overview
We are seeking a motivated and meticulous individual, with extensive experience conducting in vivo studies, to join our team. This role collaborates with scientific teams, prepares Animal Use Protocols (AUPs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and oversees day‑to‑day in vivo study execution. The successful candidate will contribute to discovery of therapeutic antibodies and subsequent efficacy assessments.
Responsibilities- Oversee day‑of‑study activities, supporting efficient and high‑quality study execution.
- Collaborate with study leads, scientists, and cross‑functional teammates to align on study protocols, animal welfare considerations, and animal macro‑ and micro‑environment requirements of in vivo studies.
- Provide technical support, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving solutions; identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices to optimize workflow efficiency.
- Contribute to the preparation of Animal Use Protocols (AUPs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to comply with CCAC Regulations and Guidelines.
- Ensure accurate recording of in vivo data across all studies and support teammates with data analysis as required.
- Train and mentor team members to ensure compliance with safety policies, SOPs, and regulatory requirements.
- Perform in vitro, in vivo, and ex vivo techniques to support study objectives; apply deep technical expertise in in vivo procedures.
- Provide the highest level of animal care while overseeing and performing in vivo activities.
- Have 6+ years of experience in an in vivo research environment, with a minimum of 3 years in an industry setting; MSc considered an asset.
- Experienced with animal handling, dosing (IV, IP, SC, PO), blood collection, and anesthesia; strong understanding of the 3
Rs and research ethics. - Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills; known for accountability and reliability.
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a collaborative, fast‑paced work environment.
- Self‑motivated, fast learner, team player, and creative problem solver.
- Able to lift up to 25 kg, comfortable with long periods of standing and bending.
- Available to work on weekend days as necessary to meet in vivo study objectives.
- Salary range CAD $75,800–$94,700 per year, commensurate with education and experience.
