The expected pay range for this position is $100,000-$110,000 annually.
This Research Associate position will play a key role in the design, execution, and communication of research projects related to electrochemical decarbonization technologies and self-driving labs. The position is within the Department of Chemistry at the Point Grey Campus of the University of British Columbia. This is a non-tenure track position.
Lead development of project proposals and project tracking documents related to thin-film materials, electrochemical reactors for carbon utilization and storage, and self-driving lab research and development
Direct experiment planning and contribute to experiment execution related to thin-film materials, electrochemical reactors for carbon utilization and storage, and self-driving lab research and development
Contribute to management of a multidisciplinary research team
Mentor students and colleagues
Ensure team members follow policies and procedures
Liaise with external collaborators as needed
Oversee sourcing and purchasing of necessary equipment and supplies and other duties as assigned
PhD in chemistry
Bachelor's degree in computer science
6+ years of experience with self-driving labs, electrochemical reactors, and thin-film materials
Strong publication record, particularly in fields of thin-film materials, electrochemical reactors, and self-driving labs

Experience with Python, C/C++, UI/UX
Effective verbal, visual, and written science communication skills
Experience in mentoring team/other researchers
